Nigeria’s Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki has slapped Vice President Yemi Osibanjo after a heated argument in Aso Villa yesterday night.
The argument started after Vice President Yemi Osinbajo decided to intercede on Senator Ali Ndume’s case.
The provoked Senate President hurriedly slapped the Vice President citing insubordination and incapacitation to deal with him on such matters. While the Vice President was listing reasons for United political party, Senator Saraki was heard intercepting him with words such, “Oga e gan o le bami so iru e” meaning in English,” Even your Boss cannot speak to me on such terms“.
Many observers think he may have been referring to Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu whom the Vice President worked with as the Governor of Lagos State.
Some others also opined that he implied the President of the country.
Some reports also assert that the also was given three times to command respect and assert authority as it took the efforts of some personal aides of the Vice President to save him from further slaps.
When calls were put through to the media aide if the Vice President, he debunked the news saying the last time the Vice President was slapped was while he was in Primary 4, when a fellow pupil slapped him.
Senator Bukola Saraki’s media aide also denied the incident saying it was all an April fool we played on you all.
Take this news with no iota of seriousness really as it did not happen.
