MTN BIS will go off on the 27th of January, 2017 according to sources from the biggest telecommunications giant in Nigeria.
Sad news this may be, but the telecommunications giant is bidding bye to the plan which many Nigerians are in love with while in its existence.
According to an SMS sent out to all subscribers still on the plan;
Dear customer, MTN Blackberry service will be decommissioned on 27/01/2017.
Please upgrade to a smartphone and enjoy 100% bonus on any data bundle purchased.
The Blackberry smartphone was once the toast of Nigerians, due to the affordable BlackBerry Internet Service tariff. That age is now history and only a small segment of Nigerian smartphone users carry a BlackBerry device anymore. The good news is that generic data plans are now much more affordable than they used to be.
Many also tweaked their phones to a Blackberry IMEI just to access the data bundles. All these will come to an end on the 27th this month according to MTN.
So, say bye bye to the MTN BIS plan.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
